The meaning and how to pronounce Aggelia

Aggelia is a transliteration of the Ancient Greek word ἀγγελία, which means message, tidings, announcement, news or proclamation.

It is pronounced ang-el-ee'-ah.

Aggelia is found in the New Testament in 1 John chapter 3, verse 11:

“Ὅτι αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἀγγελία ἣν ἠκούσατε ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς, ἵνα ἀγαπῶμεν ἀλλήλους·”

Translated by Robert Young (Young's Literal Translation 1898):

“Because this is the message that ye did hear from the beginning, that we may love one another”.
